(ROCKWALL, TX — June 1, 2017) Soccer season has wrapped up at the J.E.R. Chilton YMCA, and this year the program scored with its highest enrollment ever. Over 900 kids signed up to build new skills and new friendships.
YMCA Sports Director Bill Cadman said he is excited to see record-breaking numbers of kids enjoying a new sport together.
“It is great news for the program, it means we are offering something that is worthwhile,” Cadman said. “I love the thought of more kids than ever getting a chance to learn and participate. We teach more than the sports themselves: we teach sportsmanship. The more kids who benefit from that, the better.”
Cadman is hopeful the trend will continue next soccer season, with even more families finding a way to go out and play. In the meantime, he encourages everyone to enjoy the upcoming British Soccer Camps kicking off this summer.
Participants in British Soccer Camp not only develop their core soccer skills, they also benefit from the emphasis on respect, integrity, and leadership found in the innovative curriculum. The program includes a free ball, t-shirt, poster, and online learning subscription, plus campers registering 45 days or more prior to a camp will immediately receive a replica game jersey.
The first session will be June 26-June 30, and the second session will be July 31-August 4. The age categories include:
First Kicks 3-4 years | 10:30-11:30am | $97
MiniSoccer 5-6 years | 8:30-10pm | $119
Half-Day 7-10 years | 8:30-11:30am | $148
