Rockwall ISD earns an ‘A’ from the Texas Education Agency

(ROCKWALL, TX – August 15, 2018) Rockwall ISD’s 20 campuses earned the state’s highest rating, Met Standard, while the district accountability rating received an A, according to the Texas Education Agency’s preliminary accountability rating system that will go into effect 2019-2020. The new A-F accountability rating is based on student achievement on the high-stakes STAAR test.

“We are proud of the hard work of our students and teachers. Our Call to Action, as developed by our community through the District Strategic Plan, charges us to ‘empower learners to embody independence, value relationships and achieve excellence as thriving members of a dynamic global community.’ Rockwall ISD will remain focused on continuous improvement and delivering excellence for all students. We also recognize that over the last 10 years the state continues to change their definition of excellence per legislative sessions and to that end, we acknowledge that our sole focus will always be to pursue excellence regardless of the ever-changing accountability systems,” said Rockwall ISD Superintendent Dr. John Villarreal.
