Texas Health Hospital Rockwall broke ground today on a much anticipated, $91 Million expansion project that will add two floors to the patient tower and effectively double the size of the hospital.
New and expanded services will include a Level 2 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a cardiac Cath Lab, an Interventional Radiology suite, a second surgical robot, additional surgery suites and an expanded emergency department. The project also includes the construction of numerous inpatient rooms; two new parking lots; enhancement of waiting areas, the café, and ancillary services; and renovation of the front hospital entry.
Former Rockwall Mayor and longtime hospital board member Alma Williams Howard said, “As the population in Rockwall County and the surrounding area continues to grow, I am so grateful we will bring more quality services to meet the needs of our community and at the same time continue to offer the highly professional and compassionate care our caregivers are known for.”
The total project is expected to take about three years to complete. Updates will be available at TexasHealthRockwall.com and on social media. Full story to follow.
