Senior Spotlight: Joseph Schaefer, Rockwall High School

(ROCKWALL, TX – April 3, 2020) Joseph Schaefer, senior at Rockwall High School, will be attending Wesleyan University in Connecticut pursuing a degree in Economics while playing middle linebacker for the Cardinals Football Team. Wesleyan University was recently named one of the most difficult colleges to get into in a recent report from CBS News. Joseph was called up to the RHS Varsity football team as a sophomore becoming a starter the last two years earning 3^rd Team All-District Honors his Junior Year and 1^st Team All-District Honors his Senior Season. He was named Academic All-State 1^st Team while serving as a Captain for the State Semi-Finalist Yellow Jackets where he finished with the 3^rd most tackles in Rockwall Football History in a single season.

In addition to playing football for Rockwall High School, Joseph was the inaugural Charter President and active in the Rockwall/Heath Chapter of the Young Men’s Service League as a sophomore. He has worked with philanthropies such as Meals on Wheels, Special Olympics and Arms of Hope over the last three years.

Joseph finished in the top 5% of his class. In addition to being in the National Honor Society and his football honors; Joseph was named Jacket Athlete of the Month in November as well as Defensive Player of the Game in a come from behind win against Tyler Lee.
