Royse City ISD releases reopening plans for 2020-2021 school year

Message from Royse City ISD:

ROYSE CITY, TX (July 14, 2020) Weeks of planning and preparation, along with guidance from the Texas Education Agency, has prepared us to release our reopening plans for 2020-2021. Our focus is on providing a safe in-school environment and high-quality learning both online and in-person. Our taskforce and administrative teams have prepared detailed information to help parents make the choice between online and in-person instruction for their students.

Please review the detailed information for in-person and online learning at www.rcisd.org/reopen. A formal Commitment Form for online learning will be issued in Family Access on Thursday, July 16 in conjunction with our Back to School Forms. We highly encourage families who want online learning to complete these by July 23.

CALENDAR UPDATE

At a regularly scheduled school board meeting on July 13, 2020, the trustees approved the administration’s recommendation to delay the start of school until Monday, August 17. The original start date was August 13. These two days will be utilized by our educators to prepare for the new procedures for both online and in-person instruction. RCISD will use banked instructional minutes to make up for these two days with no impact to the remainder of the school calendar.

BACK TO SCHOOL FORMS

Your annual Back to School Forms will be released in Family Access on Thursday, July 14. This is a great opportunity to update your contact information. You will see a tile in Family Access for Back to School Forms and a separate tile for the Online Learning Commitment form mentioned above.
