ROCKWALL, TX (August 27, 2020) If you spotted patrol cars, fire engines or ambulances outside Highland Meadows this afternoon, don’t be alarmed – the health and rehab center, in partnership with Trinity Hospice, welcomed local first responders to a very special drive-thru appreciation event today.

Dubbed “Hot Dogs, Heroes and Hope,” the come-and-go luncheon provided an opportunity for front line healthcare workers and front line service men and women to connect and express appreciation for one another. Long term residents of Highland Meadows prepared encouraging messages which were presented to first responders along with refreshments.

“It was a perfect, mutual, “we’ve got your back” kind of event,” said Highland Meadows Administrator Gracen Hawley. “You could feel the sincere compassion and gratitude for service and commitment throughout the exchanges. We took it even further with personal, handwritten notes of hope and thanks from our residents!”

With the health and safety of residents, staff, and visiting first responders a top priority, the drive-thru event followed social distancing, masking and sanitization guidelines.

Locally owned and operated, Highland Meadows is located at 1870 S. John King Blvd., Rockwall, TX 75032. Their comprehensive program includes physical, occupational and speech therapies. They are currently accepting long term and short term rehab patients for therapy needed after stroke, orthopedic surgery or any hospital stay.  Learn more about their services, visit www.highlandmeadowshealth.com or call 972-722-7408.
