Dallas man arrested on aggravated kidnapping charge following incident in Rockwall

ROCKWALL, TX (September 24, 2020) An extensive follow-up investigation by members of the Rockwall Police Department Criminal Investigations Division has culminated in the arrest of 43-year-old Anthony Johnson of Dallas, TX for his role in the Aggravated Kidnapping surrounding the events which occurred on Thursday, September 3, 2020 in the 1300 block of Shores Boulevard in Rockwall.

The Rockwall Police Department was assisted by members of the Dallas Police Department and U.S. Marshalls North Texas Fugitive Task Force who served the arrest warrant on Mr. Johnson in Dallas, TX on Wednesday, September 16, 2020.

Johnson was booked into the Rockwall County Detention Center. Information garnered during the investigation indicated that the victim and Anthony Johnson had just met at an undisclosed location in Dallas and the offense occurred after the victim had spent the night at the offense location. The Department of Homeland Security has adopted the case for consideration of federal charges.

*According to the Rockwall Police Department, “Since elements of the investigation are still active, no further public comment will be made at this time.”
