Open letter to the citizens of Fate from Mayor Pro Tem David Billings

David BillingsFATE, TX – Nov. 3, 2020 – Today is election day. Where we, as a nation, state, and city, come together to elect our leaders.

It is important to create a plan and vote today, if you have not voted already. Please take the time to vote the entire ballot. The State, County, Mayor, and City Council races are very important. These races have a direct impact on your daily life in Texas.

A childhood friend, who is a Catholic priest, stated: “As a family, we may not always get along, but when one of us is hurting we all hurt and we show up.”

In our community we are family. Yes, we may disagree at times, but we always come together to support and help each other. This is how we roll.

I am asking you to take a moment after 7:00 p.m. CST to offer a prayer.  Please pray we will all work diligently for unity and to find common ground in our community.

Let us work toward a more perfect union as one member of a very large family.

May God Bless our beloved state and city.

In service,

David Billings, Mayor Pro Tem, City of Fate
