Rockwall Hometown Christmas, parade, tree lighting set for Dec. 5

ROCKWALL, TX – Nov. 18, 2020 – Registration is underway for the Rockwall Kiwanis 2020 Christmas Parade, which begins at 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5. This year’s theme is “Favorite Christmas Movie”. For parade details and to register, visit rockwallkiwanis.org/christmas-parade-2020/.

Rockwall will also celebrate the season with Hometown Christmas festivities on Saturday, Dec. 5. Outdoor activities are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. in the San Jacinto Plaza and include a Christmas Market, photos with Santa and the Grinch (bring your own camera), and a Find Frosty Scavenger Hunt.

There will be entertainment on the Downtown Courthouse stage from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., along with and activity and games booth. A pet parade is planned at 2 p.m. There will be live reindeer in front of Premier Properties from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Families may also enjoy a giant snow globe with commemorative pictures, a Snow Hill and Kiddie Snow Hill, Candy Land obstacle course, and a balloon artist. A trackless train will travel around the courthouse parking lot.

The 37th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. on the lawn of City Hall, 385 S. Goliad.
