Cort LaBlank announces run for Royse City Council, Place 2

ROYSE CITY, TX – March 14, 2021 – As of March 3rd, 2021, I Cort LaBlank am excited to announce I am running for Royse City Council Place 2.  I want to help ensure Royse City experiences effective growth and the needs that come with it.  I am passionate about preserving our city’s history and see great potential in a vibrant downtown area for all ages.

One of my main goals is to support Public Safety.  I have been in law enforcement for over 16 years and public safety for more than 20.  I was a firefighter paramedic for 10 years and have been dedicated to all public safety my entire adult life. Growth is inevitable and we need to make sure Royse City is poised to responsibly manage that growth without putting any undue burden on the rest of the citizens that already live here. I want to see an increase in transparency and community participation between the citizens and their government. Lastly, I would like to see updated city street and sidewalks to encourage small business growth in the downtown area.

I have a BS in Criminal Justice Administration, MS in Homeland Security, Graduate of the 277th session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.  I am an active member of the East Trinity Masonic Lodge #157, a member of The International Police Chiefs Association, a member of the Rockwall County Republican Men’s Club and currently sit on the Royse City Planning and Zoning Board.

I have been married to my wife Ashley for 10 years and together we enjoy being members of a local car club, learning about local history and spending time with our dogs. Ashley owns and runs a floral business and flower truck in Royse City and we enjoy getting the flower truck out and interacting with the community.

Something that really encourages me to get more involved is the hope others will have the same experience we have had here in this great city.  We live in a town where people stop by and say hello and make friends with neighbors and we can all work, play, and support each other.  I want to do my part to ensure Royse City remains A Friendly Touch of Texas.

Please vote for me May 1st for Royse City Council place 2. Follow my Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/CortLaBlankForCityCouncil
