MCLENDON-CHISHOLM, TX – March 8, 2021 – Dan Tucker has been a resident of McLendon-Chisholm for more than four years. He recently retired as a dental surgeon. Shortly after moving here, he took an interest in local politics at both the County and City level. Regarding McLendon-Chisholm, he was eager to get involved and wanted to serve. He has been on the current Planning and Zoning Commission for the past year and a half. He has also served as a member of the Economic Development Committee. He sees both positions as a means to help guide this semi-rural town through the growth that is foreseeably at hand. Over the past several years, he has attended most all bi-weekly City Council meetings. This has allowed him to appreciate and understand current issues facing the City.
Dan says that mentors are important to him. Friends and neighbors and those who have served and currently serve on City Council and other governmental bodies, have provided guidance, suggestions and other valued input that help make decision making a bit easier.
“I seek out information whereever it exists; this includes recent City surveys and FOIA requests. Sound facts regarding an issue fundamentally guide my decision making. I want to reflect the desires of the public while serving. Listening to them will best allow me to represent their concerns and this has to be my number one priority,” Tucker said.
