Rockwall County Sheriff’s Posse celebrates 30th anniversary

ROCKWALL, TX – April 23, 2021 – Members of the Rockwall County Sheriff’s Posse gathered recently to mark their 30th anniversary.

State Representative Justin Holland filed a resolution in the Texas House of Representatives  commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Posse.  Representative Holland read aloud the resolution and gave each member a signed copy.

Budd Pierce recited several entertaining compositions of cowboy poetry.  Commander Deryl Peoples, Dr. Jim Wardlaw and Tom Briscoe recounted memories of hard work, hilarity and service to the community.  A special thank you to Sheriff Terry Garrett and his wife, Shelley, for attending the anniversary event.

The R.C.S.P. was established in 1991 by Rockwall County Sheriff Jacques Kiere and Roy Hance.  For three decades the members of R.C.S.P have proudly represented their county at public events and standing ready to come to the aid of law enforcement.

The Posse invites members save the date Saturday, November 6, 2021 to celebrate Texas Western Heritage at their 2nd annual Roundup event to be held on the Historic Downtown Square in Rockwall.
