Springer Elementary and Rockwall High teachers take top honors

ROCKWALL, TX (May 8, 2021) Rockwall ISD is proud to announce the 2021 Elementary and Secondary Teachers of the Year: Enely Aguillon Guevara from Springer Elementary and Jamie Alexander from Rockwall High School.

“Enely is a dedicated educator that exemplifies Rockwall ISD’s core values,” said Sara Reeves, principal of Springer Elementary. “She is an advocate for her students and makes sure we put into place whatever her students need to be successful.”

“Jaimie is one of the most intentional, reflective and supportive teachers you will find,” said Kevin Samples, principal of Rockwall High School. “His lessons are planned with his individual students in mind and he is thinking about his in-person and remote students when designing lessons.”

Thank you to our sponsors Toyota of Rockwall, Service Solutions Corporation, Rockwall ISD Education Foundation and Rockwall Breakfast Rotary Club.

Each year, the district participates in the Teacher of the Year program by the Texas Association of School Administrators. This program begins at the district level with the opportunity to honor one educator from each Rockwall ISD campus for his or her ability to inspire students in innovative and creative ways. A selection committee made up of district administrators, former teachers of the year and community members then chooses the two winners after spending time in each classroom and interviewing each teacher.

Congratulations to Enely Aguillon Guevara and Jamie Alexander and good luck at the Teacher of the Year regional competition.
