HEATH, TX (July 6, 2021) The City and Special Events Board thank the many people who made the 2021 Independence Day celebration a Hometown Heath success.
It was pure red, white and blue Americana as all of the parade and program participants, the City council, Heath Department of Public Safety, City staff, event sponsors and an amazing corps of volunteers presented the Annual Independence Day Parade and Patriotic Program in the Park afterwards.
During the program, Mayor Kelson Elam and Emcee Tim Duncan presented the parade awards, honored the attending veterans, and recognized the Heath Hawks 6A UIL State Championship Baseball team.
Dustin Megill of the First Baptist Church of Heath led the invocation; Boy Scout Troop 989 posted the colors; and a live barbershop quartet sang the national anthem and other American favorites. And everyone enjoyed the cool weather along with free popsicles and mini cherry, apple, and buttermilk pies.
