Rockwall High School Student Council creates 9/11 memorial display with 2,897 flags

ROCKWALL, TX (August 31, 2021) The Rockwall High School Student Council will be putting out 2,897 American flags as a 9/11 memorial display on Thursday, September 2, 2021. The display, which is sponsored by Rest Haven Funeral Home, will remain in place through Monday, September 13, 2021.

Each flag represents a life that was lost due to the terror attacks on September 11, 2001. With this year being the 20th anniversary, the Student Council wanted to create a display that would show students who were not born at that time the number of people that died from the attacks.

To view the display, you can drive down Yellow Jacket Lane next to Rockwall High School.

Rockwall High School Student Council strives to empower leaders from the student body to create change in their school and community.
