ROCKWALL, TX (Nov. 28, 2021) Susie Stansel has been interested in public service since she was young, and she got an early start in government while following the footsteps of her Democratic family. Now, she is the newly elected chairwoman of the Rockwall County Democratic Party, which took place November 17 by the County Executive Committee (CEC).
“I just really enjoyed politics,” said Stansel, who also worked for many political campaigns during more than thirty years. “I realized that being in politics, you’re helping a community and a cause.”
Stansel was nominated for the position by fellow CEC members. Stansel attributes her recent appointment in part to her ability to listen. She says she is proud of the Rockwall County Democratic Party for its balanced approach to keeping community first.
