ROCKWALL, TX (Nov. 19, 2021) — Yesterday morning, Graeson Lynskey, a Democrat from Rockwall, announced his candidacy for the newly drawn 33rd House District here in Texas. The district, which includes all of Rockwall county, also includes a small portion of Collin county that was added after redistricting.
Lynskey, who is a college student and lifetime Rockwall resident, said he decided to run in the aftermath of the freeze in February that saw millions of Texans without power, in some cases for several days.
Lynskey is a fourth generation Texan who grew up in Rockwall, and attended Rockwall ISD public schools throughout his adolescence. He’s been involved in politics since 2018, and has volunteered on or worked for numerous political campaigns across party lines.
“Rockwall is my home. I grew up here, and I’ve seen first hand all the good that can come when we roll up our sleeves and work together for a bright future for all of us. This campaign is about putting people over politics, and doing everything we can to create a bright and prosperous future for all Texans. I look forward to meeting with Rockwallians and Collin County residents alike to best represent our needs down in Austin.”
The primary election will be March 1st, 2022. You can learn more about Lynskey’s campaign at his website.
