ROCKWALL, TX (May 2, 2022) Meals on Wheels Senior Services of Rockwall County recently hosted a Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon to honor its many volunteers who give selflessly of their time and energy to help improve health, reduce isolation and promote independent living for the elderly and disabled in our community, week in and week out.
Divine Peach Chapel graciously allowed Meals on Wheels to once again host this annual even in their Fellowship Hall.
Did you know that 100 percent of their meals are delivered by volunteers, and 95,000 meals are delivered annually in Rockwall County alone? And all this is managed without one client on a waiting list!
A special Hometown Hero Award was given to Lynda and Lynn Allen, presented by Modern Woodmen. Lynda and Lynn are long-time Rockwall County residents who have been volunteering with Meals on Wheels for over 13 years!
Wicker Plumbing was given special recognition in appreciation of their contributions, support, and service to Rockwall County senior citizens.
Chris Felton was given the Annie Cornelius Friends of Seniors Award.
