Royse City ISD Education Foundation sets record numbers in Fall 2022

ROYSE CITY, TX (Nov. 7, 2022) The Royse City ISD Education Foundation is a non-profit organization that funds creative grants and programming above and beyond district budgeting. Since 2009, the Foundation has given more than $1 million back to Royse City ISD schools through grants, programs and events that support students and staff members.

On Tuesday, November 1, 2022, Executive Director Kim Crumrine, Superintendent Kevin Worthy  and a group of volunteer directors boarded a school bus for the annual surprise grant patrol. More than $105,000 was distributed to 10 campuses for a total of 34 individual grants. To the beat of the Royse City High School Drumline, educators and students were surprised with the good news. This is the highest total awarded in a single grant year in the Foundation’s history. The granted dollars will impact areas like fashion design, robotics, fine arts, special services, literacy and much more.

Just a few days later, the Foundation hosted the 2nd Annual Evening For Education at the Hilton Harbor in Rockwall. More than 250 guests were in attendance at this fundraising event. At the end of the night, over $160,000 was raised to fund future grants, and staff/student appreciation programs. Generous sponsors like True North Consultants, VLK Architects, Northstar Construction and JCK Batch Plant were among the largest contributing donors. Guests enjoyed a great meal, silent auction, live auction and DJ music by Royse City ISD Educators Brody and Lisa Ross.

“I am so thankful for the vision that school leaders had back in 2009 to start the Foundation as a way to support our most creative and innovative teachers. The Foundation has steadily grown each year and under the leadership of Mrs. Crumrine has become the go-to source for funding. Their success allows our teachers to dream bigger than ever to create meaningful learning experiences for students,” said Superintendent Kevin Worthy. “Thank you to the Foundation Board of Directors and donors throughout the year that make this level of support happen for our schools.”

Looking ahead, the Foundation will plan and host the annual Top Dog Ceremony in May of 2023. This event honors and spotlights students who show dedication to academics, community service, extracurricular, leadership and school climate. Selected students then choose one influential educator to honor at the event. To learn more about the work of the Foundation, please visit
