Helms Hope is a small, Rockwall-based skin cancer nonprofit that was started in honor of Shawn Helms Jr. Shawn passed away at the young age of 21 from melanoma in July of 2019.
The organization’s mission is to bring awareness to the severity of skin cancer, educate on the importance of prevention, and enable innovative early detection. More information on Helms Hope and our goal of ending skin cancer deaths can be found on their website and on their socials.
This year will be our third annual community drive-in. In years past it was held in the the student parking lot of Rockwall-Heath High School, but was relocated this year due to construction.
“We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to host this event again for families to have a fun (and free) way to start their holiday breaks together!” said Brittany Helms Wilson, COO of Helms Hope Foundation.
Here is a highlight reel from last year’s drive-in!
