‘Mental Health First Aid’ webinar for caregivers set for Jan. 31

ROCKWALL COUNTY, TX (Dec. 28, 2022) The North Central Texas Area Agency on Aging will host a webinar/online course called ‘Mental Health First Aid,’ funded in part, by Texas Health and Human Services.

The online course is designed for caregivers, professionals and family members, and will be offered from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31. Presenters are Phyllis Finley, B.A., QMHP-CS, QIDP and Yvette Richardson-Ellis, Denton County MHMR. Mental Health First Aid is a groundbreaking public education program that helps the public identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance abuse disorders.

The first two hours is self-paced study online, followed by six additional hours of group study via Zoom. $10 contribution for course costs is requested. Limited to 30 people.
