ROCKWALL/HEATH, TX (Nov. 17, 2023) Nearly 150 sailors traveled from all over the country to compete in Rush Creek Yacht Club’s Chocopalooza Regatta on Lake Ray Hubbard Nov. 4-5.
“Our beloved sailing club shined like she’s never shined before,” an RCYC representative said of the smashingly successful event, adding that “with sunshine, warm breezes, and a total of 127 boats competing, Lake Ray Hubbard never looked more beautiful.”
Sailors experienced a little bit of every condition over the weekend, and were treated to a chocolate fountain at the end of the day.
RCYC wishes to extend a big thank you to over 60 volunteers from near and far. “We couldn’t have done it without your hard work and love for this sport,” RCYC said.
Two Rockwall ISD students were invited to the 2024 US Team Trials Qualifier in San Francisco – Kaden Virag (RHHS) and Luke Scott (Cain MS). Congratulations! Give them a pat on the back and high five the next time you see them!
Kaden Virag (RHHS) was also invited to represent the United States in 2024 at the 34th International Vila de Palamos Regatta in Costa Brava, Spain!
