Rockwall High School Student Council wins TASC Vice President & Awards

ROCKWALL, TX (April 12, 2024) Rockwall High School Student Council attended the Texas Association of Student Councils (TASC) Annual Conference this past weekend. At the event they campaigned and were elected to serve as the TASC Vice President. Madi Garcia, the VP student representative, will serve councils from across the state during the 2024-2025 school year.

Additionally, for the activities and projects the student council completed throughout the year they were awarded the Pride and Patriotism award, Energy and Environment award, Drugs, Alcohol, Safety, and Health award, and the Community Service award.

They also were awarded the Outstanding Student Council award for going above and beyond with council organization and training. Since Rockwall HS Student Council earned all five distinctions, they were named a Sweepstakes council, the highest award from TASC.

The National Association of Student Councils (NatStuCo) also recently named Rockwall HS Student Council a Gold Council of Excellence. This makes them 1 out of only 73 councils in the state to receive this award.
