Rockwall’s JER Chilton YMCA annual Teacher’s Prayer Breakfast scheduled for July 31

Rockwall, TX (May 15, 2024) – The annual JER Chilton YMCA Teacher Prayer Breakfast is scheduled for Wednesday, July 31 at 7:00 a.m. Breakfast festivities include a keynote presentation by Coach Rodney Webb, Head Football Coach and Campus Athletics Coordinator at Rockwall-Heath High School, prize drawings, and messages from civic and community leaders.

An open invitation is extended to all educators serving area schools and districts to join community members, district leadership, and YMCA leaders for a time of prayer, reflection, and celebration to kick off the new school year. The event is free to attend.

Each year, JER Chilton YMCA staff and board members excitedly gather to begin planning the annual event.

“The YMCA recognizes the crucial role educators play in developing strong, healthy students and communities” says Rockwall Fire Chief Kenneth Cullins, JER Chilton YMCA board member. “The commitment they make to their profession compliments our mission, and we want to use this opportunity to express our gratitude with prayer and encouragement as they begin a new school year.”

This year’s scriptural theme, “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me.” (Philippians 3:14) was chosen for its concentration on the focus that our educators have on their classroom goals as well as their commitment to the role of teacher. This scripture also serves as an encouraging message to students to persevere in moving forward despite stumbling along the way, which happens to everyone at some point in their lives.

Onsite childcare is available by reservation.

More information can be found online.  Educators can reserve their attendance including childcare requests online.
