ROCKWALL, TX (Oct. 4, 2024) – On Friday, October 4th, 2024 at approximately 12:30 pm, the Rockwall Police Department responded to a 911 call reporting that a male subject had attempted to abduct a 10-year-old female in the 1000 Block of W. Yellow Jacket Lane.
The student had just exited the bus and was walking home when several witnesses observed the male suspect grab the child by her backpack, but she was able to escape and a witness followed the suspect while officers were called to the scene.
Responding officers quickly located and detained the suspect who was identified as 21 year old Brian Calder. After investigation, Calder was transported to the Rockwall County Detention Center where he was booked in and charged with Attempted Kidnapping. This incident remains under investigation by the Rockwall Police Department Criminal Investigation Division.
