ROCKWALL, TX (Nov. 25, 2024) — The Rockwall County Kiwanis Club is excited to announce Mason Sevier as the Grand Marshal for this year’s Annual Kiwanis Christmas Parade.
Mason has been a devoted player in the Kiwanis-sponsored Angel Baseball Program for 25 years, since its founding in 1999. His father, Cliff, has been a longtime coach, and his mother, Teresa, has played a key role in fostering connections and bringing families in the program closer together. Over the years, we’ve had the joy of watching Mason grow and thrive, becoming an integral part of the Angel Baseball family.
Teresa shares “this coach pitch softball team has given my son and so many other athletes an opportunity to play sports like any other typical athlete. Since the inception of this team, Mason looks forward to playing every season over these past 25 years. We sincerely thank the Kiwanis Club for their vision, the time, and the love and care of our kids. We also appreciate the dedication of the numerous volunteers. You have made it the best experience in our community dedicated to all special needs athletes through baseball!”
The Angel Baseball Program is a completely free initiative for special needs individuals. It serves children ages 4 to 15 and adults 16 and over with disabilities. Designed to be inclusive and fun, games feature no strikes, no outs, and no scorekeeping—every “hit” is a home run!
Pat Turner, a longtime Rockwall County Kiwanis member and founder of the Angel League in Rockwall, has also been part of the program for 25 years. Pat shared his pride in Mason’s selection as Grand Marshal, highlighting the impact Mason and his family have had on the league.
The Kiwanis Club invites the community to celebrate this cherished holiday tradition, honoring Mason and the 25-year legacy of inclusion, joy, and community service created by the Angel Baseball Program. The Annual Kiwanis Christmas Parade will take place on December 7th, 2024 at 9am in Downtown Rockwall.
