ROCKWALL, TX — The Third Annual Republican Women’s Scholarship Fund Golf Tournament was an incredible success, bringing together community leaders, supporters, golfers, sponsors, and volunteers for a day centered around fellowship, leadership, and investing in the future of young women in Rockwall County.
Hosted at Buffalo Creek Golf Club, the tournament showcased outstanding hospitality, strong community support, and an unforgettable atmosphere both on and off the greens. Thanks to the generosity of sponsors, players, donors, and supporters, the organization proudly awarded six scholarships in the amount of $3,000 each to exceptional graduating seniors who exemplify leadership, academic excellence, faith, service, and commitment to their future goals.
“This event continues to grow each year because of a community that believes in supporting and empowering the next generation of female leaders,” organizers shared. “We are incredibly proud of all of our scholarship recipients and grateful to everyone who helped make this event possible.”
2026 Scholarship Recipients:
Caroline Saunders, daughter of Jennifer and Justin Saunders, is a graduating senior from Rockwall-Heath High School where she served as Student Council President and previously as Class President during her sophomore and junior years. Caroline is actively involved in numerous honor societies and organizations, including NHS, Mu Alpha Theta, Rho Kappa, Spanish National Honor Society, National Charity League, and Dance FX Studio. Graduating in the top 5% of her class, she will attend Auburn University this fall to major in Business Administration and minor in Political Science.
Karlie Skipper, a senior at Rockwall-Heath High School, plans to attend the University of Arkansas to pursue a degree in Nursing. With a passion for helping others and improving healthcare, Karlie maintained a 4.5 GPA throughout high school while serving as the varsity coach’s assistant for four years. She is a two-time recipient of Collin College’s highly competitive Dual Credit Health Science Professions Leadership Award and remains active in church volunteer work and community service.
Kamryn Hampton, a senior at Rockwall High School, plans to attend the University of Tennessee, Knoxville to major in Political Science with future aspirations in law. A dedicated soccer athlete for 15 years, she has competed on travel teams and the Lady Jackets Varsity Team while also completing internships with Judge Ben Massar, Judge Russo, Cindy Horne, Jennifer Ashmore, and local law enforcement agencies. Kamryn is deeply rooted in her faith and strives to exemplify servant leadership in all areas of her life.
Brynn Rice, a senior at Rockwall High School, will attend the University of Texas at Tyler to major in Finance. During high school, Brynn was actively involved in PALS, Fellowship of Christian Students, NHS, and served as Captain of the Varsity Golf Team. Her faith and volunteer service through her church have remained foundational throughout her academic and extracurricular achievements.
Libby Cheek, a lifelong Rockwall resident and senior at Rockwall High School, will attend Louisiana State University this fall majoring in Political Science on the Pre-Law track. With aspirations of becoming a corporate attorney, Libby is excited to continue pursuing academic excellence while representing her hometown community.
Myla Brizendine, a senior at Rockwall High School, will attend Texas A&M University to study Biomedical Engineering with plans to pursue a career in Pediatric Prosthetics and Orthotics. Ranked #3 out of 683 students and the top-ranking female in her class, Myla has demonstrated exceptional leadership through Student Council, Fellowship of Christian Students, Mu Alpha Theta, National Charity League, and service through Lakepointe Church Children’s Ministry. She has volunteered more than 200 hours through National Charity League and participated in the prestigious Bernice and Brudus Meyerson Program at Scottish Rite Hospital.
The Republican Women’s Scholarship Fund Golf Tournament continues to serve as an important opportunity to invest in the future leaders of the community while fostering meaningful relationships and support among local businesses, organizations, and families.
