ROCKWALL, TX (Aug. 4, 2026) Weather permitting, the following changes are scheduled for the eastbound I-30 off-ramp to State Highway (SH) 205 in Rockwall as part of an ongoing widening project:
The current eastbound I-30 off-ramp to SH 205 will be closed starting at 9 p.m. Thursday, August 6 while the ramp access is shifted to a new location.
After 5 a.m. Friday, August 7, a new temporary ramp for eastbound I-30 traffic exiting to SH 205 will open a mile west at Exit 67C, while a permanent ramp is constructed at this same location.
Drivers should use caution as traffic adjusts and follow new exit signage.
As progress continues, check drivetexas.org for daily lane closures. Any major scheduled closures will be announced in advance, and there is an option to sign up for text alerts.
As a part of the $348 million I-30 corridor expansion project, crews will widen I-30 and add continuous frontage roads from SH 205 to the Hunt County Line. The overall project is expected to be complete by early 2028. The work is part of TxDOT’s Texas Clear Lanes effort to relieve congestion in major metropolitan areas.
