ROCKWALL, TX (Dec. 13, 2021) Reserve your free ticket and bring the family out to the Rockwall-Heath High School parking lot at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18 for the 2nd annual drive-in movie event benefiting Helms Hope. The featured movie, Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas, will be aired outdoors on a 60′ tall screen. There will be food and drinks available for purchase, a photo booth area, and loads of family fun – all for a great cause.
Helms Hope is a small, Rockwall-based skin cancer nonprofit that was started in honor of Shawn Helms, Jr. Shawn passed away at the young age of 21 from melanoma in July of 2019. The organization’s mission is to bring awareness to the severity of skin cancer, educate on the importance of prevention, and enable innovative early detection.
“Last year we held our inaugural drive-in event, a tradition we hope to continue for many years. With so many events being canceled last year, we wanted to find a way to host a free community event that could bring people together for some family fun as well as raise awareness for skin cancer,” said Brittany Wilson with Helms Hope. “The event was a lot of fun and we love getting our community together, especially around the holidays, so we’re hosting the drive-in again!
