ROCKWALL COUNTY – Weather permitting, the following traffic shifts are scheduled this week along I-30 in Royse City as a part of an ongoing widening project.
Friday, August 28
Westbound I-30 traffic will shift to a new configuration between FM 35 and Erby Campbell Boulevard in Royse City from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Saturday, August 29.
Sunday, August 30
The FM 548 intersection at I-30 will be closed to through traffic and detoured overnight from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.
This will continue nightly until work to the westbound I-30 bridge at FM 548 is complete.
Motorists should follow posted detour signs, watch for changing traffic patterns and allow for extra travel time. As progress continues, check drivetexas.org for daily lane closures. Any major scheduled closures will be announced in advance, and there is an option to sign up for text alerts.
As a part of the $348 million I-30 corridor expansion project, crews will widen I-30 and add continuous frontage roads from SH 205 to the Hunt County Line. The overall project is expected to be complete by early 2028. The work is part of TxDOT’s Texas Clear Lanes effort to relieve congestion in major metropolitan areas.
