(GRAPEVINE-January 25, 2013) The Grapevine Convention & Visitor’s Bureau welcomes the 7th Annual 125-Mile Visual Arts Exhibition to the Grapevine Tower Gallery, 636 S. Main Street, Grapevine, February 3 – 28. The show is free and open to the public.
Coordinated by the Visual Arts Society of Texas (VAST), this art show was initiated in 2006 to establish a regional, high-quality juried art exhibition for artists living within a 125-mile radius of Denton, Texas, to compete and show their work. VAST, based in Denton, was formed in 1975 and functions as a professional organization dedicated to supporting artists and art lovers.
This year’s exhibition is juried by Richard Martin Ash, III, professor emeritus, Midwestern State University. The show features two and three dimensional works in the media of oil and watermedia on canvas; watermedia on paper; mixed media, collage and drawing; hand-pulled graphics, photography and prints; ceramics, textile and fiber and sculpture. The show will announce the winners in each of the above categories at the closing reception on February 28.
The show will be open to the public, Mondays – Fridays, 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.; Saturdays, 10 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. and Sundays, 12 p.m. – 5 p.m. The Grapevine Tower Gallery is located at 636 S. Main St.
