(ROCKWALL-March 5, 2013) Rockwall Pets, a No Kill rescue and advocacy organization, is proud to announce two new members of its management team. Beth Cansler is now foster coordinator, and Christina Arriaga has been promoted from Dallas rescue coordinator to the organization’s overall rescue coordinator.
Cansler oversees the expanding foster operation, coordinating housing for rescued pets and arranging full medical care for each animal. Arriaga is responsible for rescuing as many pets as possible from death row at area animal shelters.
The promotions were announced when five members of the Rockwall Pets team travelled to Austin for the American Pets Alive! No Kill Conference in late February. Rockwall Pets is a 501(c)(3) dedicated to making all of north Texas No Kill, since shelter killing is the number one cause of death for healthy dogs and cats in the United States. While at the Austin conference, the Rockwall Pets board of directors unveiled an ambitious plan to double the number of pets the organization rescues from shelters.
Cansler is a long-time pet foster, and has fostered numerous pets for various organizations in the Dallas area. Arriaga began rescuing pets last year and personally saved over 100 animals from area shelters in just a few months in 2012.
Rockwall Pets rescues animals who are at risk of losing their lives at animal shelters. The organization gives each pet full medical care and places the pet in a foster home before finding it a permanent and loving home. Rockwall Pets began hosting weekly adoption events at the Rockwall Petco in June 2010.
