(ROCKWALL-March 20, 2013) The May 11 City of Rockwall municipal election was canceled by the City Council because all five candidates were unopposed. Mayor David Sweet, Mayor Pro Tem David White and council member Bennie Daniels will be sworn in for two-year terms.
Jim Pruitt (Place 2), appointed to the position last year following the resignation of now Justice of the Peace Mark Russo, will serve the final year of his term, and he will be eligible for reelection in 2014 for a full two-year term.
Candidate Scott Milder did not receive a challenger for Place 5 currently held by Michelle Smith. Mrs. Smith did not seek reelection.
