(ROCKWALL ISD-September 24, 2013) The Rockwall High School Jacket Backers have selected Bailey Smith as the Lady Jacket Athlete of the Month and Chris Warren as the Yellowjacket Athlete of the Month.
Smith, an 11th grade member of the varsity volleyball team, was nominated by Coach Damon Wilson and chosen by the Jacket Backers board. She moved from middle blocker last year to outside hitter this year, led the volleyball team in Kills and Digs and was second in Aces for the month of August.
“Bailey has had a great start to the season. We are very proud of her performance on the volleyball court for the Lady Jackets!” said Coach Wilson.
Warren, an 11th grade member of the varsity football team, was nominated by Coach Rodney Webb and chosen by the Jacket Backers board.
Warren’s 350 yards in 32 carries was the highest output in the Metroplex for the weekend, and a new RHS school record. Warren also had 4 TD’s in the game.
“We’re proud to have Chris as a Yellowjacket. He represents us well, both on and off the field,” said Coach Webb.
Also receiving nominations for the month were Brandon Hudson (Tennis) and Justin Tokuz (Cross Country).
