ROCKWALL (January 13, 2014) The president of the Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce, Dana K. Macalik, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Texas Association of Business.
Macalik will fill a two-year leadership position that began this month, and in February will attend an induction ceremony in Austin at the 2014 TAB Conference.
Founded in 1922, TAB is the largest and most influential broad-based business group in Texas. The organization’s mission is to make the Texas business climate the best in the world. Its members and staff advocate policies in Washington, D.C. and Texas to advance that vital objective. Macalik will now be a part of a board consisting of about 100 elected or appointed members from throughout the state of Texas.
Macalik, who joined the Rockwall Chamber as president in October 2011, has a lengthy background in the Rockwall community and views her current position one of pro-business advocacy.
“TAB plays an important role in shaping the business climate in Texas,” said Macalik , I view this opportunity of service on the TAB Board to help elevate the profile of the Rockwall area and our vibrant business community at the state level and beyond.”
“The Rockwall Area Chamber has several critical functions, including helping local businesses succeed, promoting economic development, and advancing our quality of life,” said Macalik. “I’m looking forward to contributing to TAB’s efforts on Rockwall’s behalf, to continue to shape the best possible business climate for Texas.”
