ROCKWALL, TX (October 21, 2014) The Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce and all other Texas area Chambers of Commerce were recognized during Monday’s city council meeting as Rockwall Mayor David Sweet officially proclaimed Monday, Oct. 20, 2014 as Chamber of Commerce Week in Rockwall.
First chartered by the Republic of Texas in 1840, Texas Chambers of Commerce have contributed to the civic and economic life of Texans for 174 years. In fact, this year marks the 106th anniversary of the Texas Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (TCCE), the longest standing association of chamber of commerce professionals in the nation.
The Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce also celebrates its 85th anniversary this year, founded in 1929 as the County’s leading broad-based organization serving as the unified voice for businesses across the county. Chambers of Commerce encourage the growth of existing businesses as well as encouraging new businesses and individuals to locate in Rockwall and provide guidance and leadership to communities statewide.
