PBS fans invited to KERA Preview Night and Tea with Bill Young
KERA Channel 13’s Vice President of Television Programming Bill Young will make a special guest appearance at The British Emporium in Grapevine at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8. The event is free and open to the public.
Festivities include a meet and greet Holiday Tea with Bill and an exclusive preview screening of new British shows. Store owners Sheela Kadam and Alexandra Evans are regular volunteers at their local PBS station, and Kadam is a regular volunteer television and radio presenter at KERA.
“We are delighted to give KERA fans in Grapevine and the surrounding areas the chance to meet Bill at our store whilst enjoying complimentary British tea and holiday refreshments. Bill is keen to meet viewers and to listen to their feedback on potential new programming,” said Kadam.
Evans added that “Bill is a popular guest at our events and always shares wonderful stories about everyone’s favourite British celebrities that they watch on KERA.”
The Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) was established 42 years ago. British comedy made its U.S. debut on KERA-TV 35 years ago with the premiere of Monty Python’s Flying Circus. It caught on and today, KERA runs more British comedy than the BBC. For more information on Bill Young and KERA and to read his “Tellyspotting” blog, visit kera.org.
