(Heath) The much-needed rain showers held off long enough for community members to welcome Santa and the holiday season at the annual Heath Holiday in the Park on Dec. 2.
Heath Mayor John Ratcliffe hosted the festivities that began with flipping the switch on the Christmas tree and the beautiful lighted vignettes placed throughout Towne CenterPark behind City Hall.
Residents were then treated to performances by the Honor choirs of Dorothy Smith Pullen and AmyParks-Heath Elementary Schools.
After arriving to a joyful greeting and singing a round of Jingle Bells with the choirs, Santa made his way to the Heath Community Room where he read a story, visited with all of the eager children and posed for family photos.
Everyone enjoyed the hot cocoa, wassail and home-baked Christmas cookies provided by Rockwall Women’s League, National Charity League and Kroger’s grocery store.
The NCL Ticktocker Class of 2015 graciously served refreshments for the evening. Children also enjoyed rides around Towne Center Park on a miniature train.
