(Wylie ISD) The faculty and PTA Board of Hartman Elementary will host the 10th Annual Michael Tetreault Memorial Scholarship Spaghetti Dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2 in the cafeteria of Hartman Elementary in Wylie.
All proceeds from the dinner will go to a scholarship fund that has been established in Michael’s name. The recipients of the scholarship will be be announced at the end of the 2011-12 school year and will receive a $1,000 scholarship to use at the college of his or her choice. Wylie ISD students who attended Hartman Elementary are eligible.
Michael died in 2002 for injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He attended Hartman Elementary, Wylie Junior High and Wylie High School, and graduated in the 10 percent of his class as a Birmingham Scholar. He attended Collin County Community College before transferring to University of North Texas as a broadcasting major. He was involved at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, played baseball and basketball. His parents are Patty and Paul Tetreault of Wylie. Patty served as the Hartman Attendance/Registrar.
The cost of the dinner is $5 for adults; $4 for children. This includes salad, spaghetti with meat or marinara sauce, bread, dessert and iced teak, served by Hartman Elementary School staff. To-go orders are also available. Reservations are required and must be made by Wednesday, Feb. 1.
