Dena Childs Elder of Rockwall has organized an event to empower and support women, called Steps in Sisterhood, or S.I.S.
She writes, “Okay ladies, it’s a new year, why not try something new? Do you ever think about those women that might be fighting a personal and silent battle, or that woman that feels so alone and broken, or that Super Mom that gives all of herself to her job and/or family, or even that woman that seems to have it all together?
Well, I personally feel that regardless of the age or the season of life that women may be in right now, sometimes just getting up is a challenge. So let’s be a reason, a reason to get up, get out and start living your best life!
One of the greatest gifts, is the gift of time. Maybe you need it or maybe you have it to give. For anyone interested, come join Steps In Sisterhood (S.I.S.) from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1 at Harry Myers Park for some fresh air, a little exercise but most importantly companionship and empowerment.
Join other women to walk, jog, skip, whatever you feel like doing at whatever pace you feel like doing it at, just come start your weekend off doing something good for your body, mind and your soul!”
