Video: Team manager goes ‘bananas’ over championship win

(Richardson) Goalie dad Raymond Smith, who serves as team manager for the Dallas Oilers U14 Bantams, recently made good on his promise to dress like  a banana if the boys won the Oktoberfest Tournament in Oklahoma City.

The idea was born after many of the players had successful shifts on the ice, and parents joked that it must be due to the bananas eaten before the game.

The Oilers pulled off a hard-fought win in the championship, prompting Smith to don a banana costume and cheer the team on the next time they took the ice.

The Dallas Oilers Bantams are based out of the Ice Training Center in Richardson and coached by Dan Hurtubise.

Thanks go out to team manager Raymond Smith for his endless enthusiasm and support of the team.
