Chance to win big by adopting at Rowlett PetSmart

Rockwall and Rowlett area residents have an opportunity to win big prizes by adopting PetSmart’s five-millionth pet. Rockwall Pets holds a weekly adoption event at the Rowlett PetSmart every Saturday from noon to 4 pm. An adoption this weekend may qualify a local resident for the national PetSmart award for adopting pet number five million.

In addition, PetSmart and PetSmart Charities are hosting a High Five! party in the Rowlett PetSmart store to celebrate the five-millionth pet adopted through the in-store adoption program since 1994. Pet parents and their pets are invited to join the celebration and take commemorative photos giving each other a high-five in a nod to the millions of homeless pets who have been saved through adoption.

Approximately eight million pets end up in United States shelters each year and four million are killed, simply because they weren’t marketed properly by shelters. Rockwall Pets was instrumental in taking the Rockwall shelter to No Kill status via an effective marketing campaign. The nonprofit is now hosting weekly adoption events in Rowlett.

Today, more than 1,100 pets are adopted through the PetSmart Charities Adoption Centers located inside every PetSmart store in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. That’s 400,000 pets who find homes each year, accounting for about 10 percent of all adoptions in the United States. The Rowlett PetSmart and Rockwall Pets recently teamed up to provide quality adoption events to benefit the Rockwall/Rowlett area. Rockwall Pets is also in the process of making all of Rockwall County a No Kill zone for homeless animals.
