Erin Kinsey is an 11-year-old musician and singer from Heath. She attends school in Rockwall and will be entering sixth grade this fall. Erin started piano lessons when she was four, and picked up a guitar for the first time a year ago.
In January 2012, Erin decided she wanted to sing and play the guitar in the Rockwall’s Got Talent competition. She worked hard to learn her first two guitar songs for the competition and the judges awarded her with third place. Over the past six months, Erin has performed in a variety of DFW venues including the Rodeo City Music Hall in Mesquite, the Wylie Opry, Cline’s Corner in Canton, The Farr Best Theater in Mansfield, McFadden’s in Addison, The Palladium Ballroom at Gilley’s in Dallas, and Pizza Getti in Rockwall.
Erin’s impressive vocal range and power is complimented by her rapid growth as a skilled musician. She plays the 6-string acoustic guitar, 12-string guitar, electric guitar, and piano – and is currently learning the banjo. Erin recently began writing original songs. Her favorite genre is country and her musical influences include Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood, among many others.
