Springer students raise funds for St Jude cancer patients through Math-a-Thon

(ROCKWALL, TX – Oct 6, 2015) Sixth graders in Liz Kelly’s class at Springer Elementary School have been learning about children and their families who have faced childhood cancer. They decided to make a difference and join one of the biggest fundraisers for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital called the Math-a-Thon. This is where they ask friends and family to make a donation and in return they complete a math funbook and learn a wonderful life lesson of giving to others.

St. Jude is a hospital that treats children for cancer and other childhood diseases at NO COST to the families. We are proud to say that the sixth graders not only met our goal of $900, but they brought in donations of over $1800!!! They will be celebrating the goodness they are doing for others they have not even met.
