(ROCKWALL, TX – June 26, 2020) “The decision has been made to postpone the Downtown Daycation event set for July 3 in historic downtown Rockwall. Although shops and restaurants will be open for business, the cornhole tournament, lawn games, food trucks and related activities will be rescheduled. The Downtown Rockwall Association looks forward to hosting this event in the future, complete with all the festivities and live music by Emerald City Band, at a later date to be determined. Our downtown businesses appreciate your continued support during this difficult time,” said Tammy Sharp, President of the Downtown Rockwall Association.
The decision was first announced in a statement from Sharp that was read during this morning’s Rockwall City Council Emergency Meeting.
The Council voted 4-1 to continue with city outdoor events including Concerts by the Lake, the Fourth of July parade, and fireworks. Social distancing and masks are encouraged during these events. Those who missed the emergency meeting may watch it here.
