Women In Need invites participation in Adopt-a-Room Project

ROCKWALL, TX (April 29, 2021) The shelter director of Women In Need, Inc. has extended an invitation to individuals and organizations in the communities they serve to participate in the Adopt-a-Room Project.

With the renewal that the season of spring brings, Women In Need’s domestic violence shelter rooms in Greenville are in need of some redecoration. Individuals and organizations are invited to be as creative as they would like to be. The redecoration could be as simple as a picture hung on the wall, a new lamp for the nightstand, and a curtain for the window – or as involved as a new dresser, new comforter for the bed(s), a hand-towel rack next to the sink, and a fresh coat of paint on the walls.

Any questions about decorating ideas can be answered by Women In Need’s shelter director. For more information, please call 903-455-4612.

Sadly, domestic violence continues to plague our community. According to the CDC, about 1 in 4 women and nearly 1 in 10 men have experienced contact sexual violence, physical violence, and/or stalking by an intimate partner during their lifetime and reported some form of intimate partner violence-related impact. Women In Need, Inc., exists to provide refuge, empowerment, and restoration to individuals and families impacted by domestic violence.
