Independence Day in Heath: Festivities include annual parade on July 3

HEATH, TX (June 22, 2021) For a patriotic hometown American experience, join the festivities at the City of Heath’s Annual Independence Day Parade presented on Saturday, July 3.

Parade entry awards will be presented during a patriotic celebration immediately after the parade in Towne Center Park featuring a live barbershop quartet and free popsicles and pie.

8:00 a.m. Staging at Amy Parks-Heath Elementary School, 330 Laurence Drive
8:15 a.m. Judging Begins. Please be in Place for Award Consideration
9:00 a.m. Parade Starts

The Patriotic Program in the Park Follows the Parade in Towne Center Park

Veterans Float

The City of Heath invites veterans and active members of the U.S. Military to ride in the parade on the Veterans Float. The float will be parked in the fire bay at City Hall, 200 Laurence. Please arrive by 8:15 a.m. to enjoy coffee, donuts and camaraderie. The City thanks John Holmsley and Bob Quimby for providing the trailer for the Veterans Float every year, and the National Charity League mother/daughter teams for decorating it so beautifully.

Patriotic Celebration

Come back to the gazebo in Towne Center Park immediately after the parade for free icy popsicles and freshly baked mini-pies. The short program honoring our veterans will feature the presentation of colors by Boy Scout Troop 989, live music by a barbershop quartet, and presentation of the parade awards.

Traffic Delays

The intersection of Laurence Drive and FM 740/ FM 1140 will be closed during the parade from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. on July 3. To avoid inconvenience or delays, please plan an alternate
route or time to drive through the area.
