Rockwall police arrest parade participant on tractor

ROCKWALL, TX (July 3, 2021) On Saturday, July 3 at approximately 11:30 a.m., a parade participant at the Rockwall 4th of July Parade was driving a tractor and causing a disturbance in the stage area near Utley Middle School.

Parade official elected to not allow her on the parade route. The driver, later identified as Laurie Bostic (white femal, 61 years of age) refused to cooperate with parade officials, ignored the order of police officers and joined in the parade anyway. Because of the dangerous way in which she was operating her tractor, officers attempted to stop her near TL Townsend Drive and Justin Road. She refused to stop and began to evade officers. Officers were able to force her from the road where she ran into a fence, disabling her tractor.

She was quickly taken into custody and transported to Rockwall County Jail. Bostic was booked in for Evading Arrest (a third degree felony). Interference With a Processional (a Class B misdemeanor), Disorderly Conduct (a Class C misdemeanor), and Criminal Mischief (a Class A misdemeanor).
