The Rockwall community shared the spirit of giving this holiday season as Fox 4 News and Jack FM hosted a spirit-filled Toys for Tots event at The Harbor on Dec. 9.
Residents lined up to drop off toys even before the official 5 p.m. start time. On hand to accept donations were members of the United States Marine Corps and countless volunteers – including the award-winning Rockwall-Heath Highsteppers.
The first 50 donors were presented with free pizza gift cards from teen members of the Fashion and Design Society of Rockwall County, compliments of Campisi’s Restaurants. Campisis also provided pizza for the Marines and other volunteers. Owner David Campisi presented Heather Hays of Fox 4 News with a check for $500 for Toys for Tots.
Two Men & A Truck came with a truck filled with new bicycles. Meade Servicing Group made a grand entrance with their truck packed full with donated toys.
Despite the chill in the air, hearts overflowed with warmth and generousity. Ruby Tuesday kept the hot chocolate flowing, and children visited with Mrs. Claus and shared some of their Christmas wishes.
More than 90 boxes of donations were collected during the event.
Thank you to Fox 4, Jack FM, The Harbor, the Marines and the volunteers for being part of such a successful event that will bring many gifts and happiness to Metroplex children this year.
