(ROCKWALL, TX – Jan. 15, 2019) According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), the 2017-2018 flu season was the first season to be classified as high severity, hospitalizing 30,453 people and taking the lives of 185 children. On January 8, 2019, Dallas County Health and Human Services (DCHHS) reported the first and second flu-related deaths […]
(ROCKWALL, TX — January 7, 2019) I spent 40 plus years caring for folks who had had heart attacks. In that period of time I honed my skills to know when they would go south with their symptoms, learning to anticipate their progress (or lack thereof) based on the area of their heart involved, lab […]
(ROCKWALL, TX — January 3, 2019) With the New Year upon us, many have made resolutions to improve their lives through better health, increased finances, deeper faith, and so much more. For Evan and me, we are wanting to decrease our footprint with less waste. And just like most others, we want to eat less! […]
(ROCKWALL, TX — January 2, 2019) It’s all put away leaving nothing but dust impressions on the few areas that were NOT covered with something Christmas. I’ve heard people say I can do anything. We came to understand such goings-on when our youngest grand child became best friends with Woody, the main character in Toy Story. All the toys in the story took on human qualities carrying on the […]
(ROCKWALL/HEATH, TX – Dec. 16, 2018) I fancied myself an actress after starring in my eighth grade play, but high school became more competitive. A girl named Mary received the lead role in our spring production while I accepted the part of collecting admission tickets for the event. When Mary graduated and left Arkansas to pursue […]
(ROCKWALL, TX — December 10, 2018) I walked by my manger scene this weekend, but noticed something different about Joseph. He looked very strange as he watchfully guarded the characters in the scene. Joseph doesn’t talk much. He’s a watcher. We actually never have any words from him in Scripture. But his clothes weren’t right. […]
(ROCKWALL, TX — December 6, 2018) I wanted to share with you a story of inspiration this holiday season. Recently I bought some mini pecan muffins from one of my favorite local vendors at the Farmers Market. You don’t see them around much anymore so I try to grab them anytime I do. My mom […]
